Dena.jpg

Dena Tarpley

Owner

Dena discovered Pilates after years of pounding her knees, ankles, and back on soccer fields in & around Austin. She has practiced Pilates for 20 years, been teaching 10 years, and joined Tessa as co-owner of Zenergy Pilates in 2014. In October of 2017, she became the sole owner of Zenergy.  Recently retired from her corporate career, Dena is excited about spending more time helping all types of clients realize the many benefits of Pilates.
In addition to being a Comprehensively Certified Peak Pilates Instructor, she also holds an IM=X Pilates certification, and a Personal Trainer certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She completed the Discover*Move*Inspire Masters in Pilates program which included modules on working with special populations such as clients with back injuries, pregnancy, and scoliosis.  She is also certified in Pilates for Neurological Conditions and Buff Bones. In 2022, she completed the "Passing the Torch" mentorship program with Wendy Leblanc-Arbuckle.  Dena is also a Level 1 Franklin Method educator. When she’s not teaching or practicing Pilates, Dena enjoys reading, playing golf, hanging out with family, friends & dogs, and exploring any and all types of mindful movement.

Cindy Driskill

Pilates Instructor

Cindy is a comprehensively certified Peak Pilates Instructor.  In addition she has recently completed the Discover*Move*Inspire Masters in Pilates program which included training for working with special populations with disc issues, osteoporosis, scoliosis, and pregnancy.

Cindy started Pilates in an effort to reshape her abdominals which had been thoroughly stretched from a twin pregnancy when all other forms of abdominal work seemed to only make them worse. What she discovered was a complete and total workout system for mind and body unlike anything she had ever experienced before. She marvels at how years later she is still finding ways to work deeper and to improve her practice.

She made the decision to turn her passion into a profession and feels that Pilates has something for every “body” regardless of their fitness background. She loves helping her clients find better movement in the studio but especially loves when they see the benefits of their Pilates practice  in their everyday activities. She is thrilled when her clients or classes have “Aha” moments when they discover a new connection to an exercise or accomplish an exercise that once seemed impossible. She tries to keep her sessions light hearted and always wants her clients to feel better when they leave than when they arrived.

When not in the studio Cindy loves spending time with her husband traveling in their motorhome and by plane. She always enjoys any opportunity to spend time with her adult and college aged kids. She loves to cook and is especially fond of her two mini schnauzers Kirby and Kooper.

Lyndsey.jpg

Lyndsey Crawford

Pilates Instructor

Lyndsey grew up in the Austin area and spent all of her waking hours in dance classes and on the stage.  She continued dancing and performing throughout her childhood and into her college years.  Lyndsey graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science in 1999.
Lyndsey has always enjoyed movement and considers her health and exercise a top priority.  After a fall and injury to her spine Lyndsey found herself in constant pain and unable to exercise how she was use to.  At the suggestion of her Yoga teacher she tried Pilates. Pilates brought her out of a place of chronic pain and taught her how to move with more awareness. The increased strength and stability in her body as a result of Pilates has kept her off the operating table and active once again. She has religiously practiced Pilates for the last 8 years and has seen the life changing effects of Pilates first hand.
Lyndsey’s love of movement and desire to share the gift of Pilates with others lead her to complete her Comprehensive Peak Pilates Certification and Booty Barre Certification.  Lyndsey has been teaching Pilates in the Austin area since February of 2015 and is excited to be joining the Zenergy team.

Andrea.jpg

Andrea Paterson

Pilates Instructor

A lifelong fitness enthusiast and advocate of healthy living, Andrea discovered Pilates shortly after moving to Austin in 2010. She was immediately drawn to the unique balance of development and conditioning through movement and, after several years of experiencing the benefits of Pilates to both her body and mind (not to mention her tennis game), she knew that she wanted to share her newfound passion with others. Having made the decision to become an instructor, Andrea earned her initial certification from Peak Pilates in 2015 and her Comprehensive Certification in 2016.

Andrea believes that optimal Pilates training is achieved by aligning your body, breath and thoughts with your highest intentions and she strives to bring that philosophy to her students in every session.
When she is not teaching or training, Andrea enjoys playing tennis, skiing, reading, traveling and spending time with her husband and two dogs.

Melody Benton

Pilates Instructor

Melody Benton is a disciplined mover and a lifelong student of movement, community, partnership, and healing. Over the last 20 years, she has explored the deep connections between the body, mind, and spirit. As a movement educator, she has a gift to help others connect deeply with themselves through movement; live and move in ways they believed impossible; and most importantly, change their lives. Melody’s movement foundations began as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2002 which led her into the wellness world of health and fitness in 2005. She has obtained certifications in personal training, pilates, yoga, TRX, aquatic exercise, stand up paddle boarding, SUP yoga, Thai yoga bodywork and reiki. Over the past 6 years, her knowledge and experience have grown tremendously through her intensive studies and mentorships with master teachers like Wendy Leblanc-Arbuck and Amy Matthews.
She follows her heart and passion into the worlds of primal, natural movement, experiencing play, flow, and full embodiment of whole body movement, the original vision of Joseph Pilates’ work. She faces fear and physical challenge through most of her chosen sports to heighten her mind-body connection and discover her core beliefs. As a seeker of knowledge and truth, Melody is more than just a coach or teacher of movement. She lives what she teaches, expressed by her passion to learn and discover a deeper relationship with herself, others and life through daily embodied movement.

Ali headshot.jpeg

Ali Stow

Pilates Instructor

Ali’s Pilates journey began in 2011. She stumbled upon our original studio, Pilates at Four Points, off of 2222 and signed up for a class. Ali had never been an “exercise person.” She had never found something she enjoyed enough to keep doing consistently. That all changed with Pilates. She kept coming back week after week and, most importantly, loved how she felt leaving the studio each week.
With the encouragement of the Zenergy team, Ali took the plunge and began her Pilates Instructor certification in the Fall of 2019. Ali’s life has changed drastically in the 10 years she’s been practicing Pilates. She bought a house in 2012 and met her husband, Ryan, in 2013. They wed in 2015, bought a new home in 2018 and welcomed their first child, a son, in January of 2021. After a year of virtual teaching and a pregnancy during a global pandemic, Ali is excited to be back teaching in the studio. She continues to teach several virtual classes each week and enjoys the challenge of adapting the Pilates core movements for a virtual environment.
